16 year old Derrick Patterson is supposed to be in his bedroom doing his homework. Instead, he is trying to impress Debbie, his friend from school. After getting caught, chastised, and "schooled" about the legendary magic of Motown by his father George, Derrick eventually falls asleep and dreams of the Motown acts visiting he and Debbie, right inside the bedroom for a Motown Musical Extravaganza!
