SEPTEMBER 1, 2011 ON THE MIC THURSDAY'S @ REFLECTION MANOR

    •      A lady blurted out "MESHA YA MAD," spoken in her dialect of Jamaica. "I get goose bumps, whenever I hear her sing," stated one of her fans. "Queen Mesha is the next female voice of reggae music. I need her song, Leave Me Alone, on a dub plate," stated Bobo Rems. Obviously, Queen Mesha's voice and Gideon Band impaled the hearts of their audience, like a javelin. She romanced their ears with her diverse vocal range, while the band illustrated confidence with the sound from their instruments, which resulted in a standing ovation. "Are you ready for me to go home?" Queen Mesha asked the enthusiastic crowd. Without a surprise they responded with NO's, which echoed through Reflection Manor. Her overall stage presence was sufficiently great, especially when she created the remix to Digging by Station Underground.

Station Underground's cd release back yard jam will take place at Skiebo's, on September 10, 2011. He performed for ON THE MIC THURSDAY'S numerous times. Contact him (646-353-7947) for more information. Also on September 10th, MS Music presents album release party for Ghost (reggae artist). Contact Lively w/ One Don Sound for more information. Another event to recommend is Unite & Be Strong presented by Linkage Radio, on September 16, 2011. Live performance by Turbulence The Future, Khalilah Rose, Kapa Shanti and more. For more information on the live concert, contact 347-382-4295. The purpose of the mentioned events is to bring awareness; we need to endeavor to support each other's events, when it's a positive cause. If possible, give a donation if you are not able to attend.

Hopefully, you will be exposed to the same full of life mannerisms, as ON THE MIC THURSDAY's with Aminatu, Dice and Ras Atiba. Promoters, Live Performers, Designers, DJ's and etc, the goal is to stimulate growth in our communities. Sometimes we make change of familiarity, difficult for ourselves. Please make necessary adjustments for the generations to come. If we do not get to the core of ourselves, how can we expect greatness from our youth? "Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail” as stated by Harold McAlindon. How many promoters or event planners do you know, at the end of the event; ask you (man and woman) how are you getting home? If you ever attended ON THE MIC, highest commendations go to Aminatu, Dice and Ras Atiba, for their consideration.

The ON THE MIC THURSDAY'S family would like to thank the vendors, photographers, models and everyone whom participated in the creation for September 1st.
